UGA Geography Alumni Sarah Jackson has transformed her passion for community service, sustainable food systems, and a love of outdoor spaces into a bountiful new career through her organization, Abundance Landscapes and Gardens. The Fort Stewart Fire Research Campaign was an integrative research effort that collected data on Fire Behavior, Fuels, and Smoke during a series of prescribed burns at Fort Stewart. Atmospheric Sciences alumna, Emily Wilson, was recently recognized by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for the "critical support [she] provided to Operation Allies Welcome", an initiative set forth by the DHS to evacuate U.S. citizens and Afghan nationals during the insurrection in Afghanistan.
