Student Organizations

UGA Geography is home to two active student organizations.

The Geography Undergraduate Student Organization (GUSTO) has regular social events for student majors and those interested in geography as a subject. The group creates opportunities for interaction and networking for students with faculty members and professional geographers in the local area, to take part in outreach activities aimed toward increasing members' exposure to both human and physical geography-related activities, and to increase students' interaction with the local community.

The American Meteorological Society, which is the premier scientific and professional organization in the United States promoting and disseminating information about the atmospheric, oceanic, and hydrologic sciences. As a chapter of AMS, the group gives students and faculty alike the opportunity to discuss and enjoy the weather and atmospheric sciences outside of a classroom setting by sponsoring speakers, field trips, and social events. You can follow them on social media at UGAAMSChapter on all major handles for club and meeting updates.
